Tosses two TDs in win

Hurts completed 16 of 23 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in Sunday's 30-13 win over the Broncos. He also gained 53 rushing yards on 14 carries.

Analysis: The second-year QB failed to reach 200 passing yards for the fifth time in the last six games, but between his running and two first-half TD passes to DeVonta Smith, Hurts was able to put together a productive performance. He's now eclipsed 2,000 passing yards and 500 rushing yards on the season heading into a Week 11 tilt against the Saints.

Not much passing again

Hurts completed 11 of 17 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown and gained 62 yards on 10 carries in Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Chargers.

Analysis: For the second straight game, Hurts attempted fewer than 20 passes, and for the fourth time in the last five games he threw for fewer than 200 yards. What tosses he did make mostly went to DeVonta Smith, as the rookie hauled in 71.6 percent of his passing yards. Hurts' running gives him a strong fantasy floor, but the Eagles' reluctance to let him loose as a passer limits his ceiling heading into a Week 10 clash with the Broncos.

Hardly needs to pass in win

Hurts completed nine of his 14 passing attempts for 103 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and added seven carries for 71 yards in Sunday's 44-6 win over the Lions.

Analysis: The Eagles were able to run at will on Detroit and had a three-score lead at the half, so Hurts' arm took a back seat in this one. All of his passing numbers were season lows. On the bright side, he led the team in rushing. With a much better opposing offense on tap in the Chargers in Week 9, the 23-year-old will likely have to throw more to keep up the pace.

Solid showing in Week 7 loss

Hurts completed 18 of 34 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns while gaining a team-high 61 rushing yards on 13 carries in Sunday's 33-22 loss to the Raiders.

Analysis: While the second-year quarterback once again wasn't particularly efficient as a passer and lost his first fumble of the year, Hurts still found Kenneth Gainwell and Jalen Reagor for scores through the air. He also hit Dallas Goedert for a two-point conversion. Hurts will take a 10:4 TD:INT, plus five rushing TDs, into a Week 8 matchup on the road against the Lions.

Three total TDs despite struggles

Analysis: The second-year signal-caller simply couldn't find any consistent rhythm as a passer, but his ability to make plays with his legs still left his fantasy managers pleased. Will keep seeing designed plays

Coach Doug Pederson said Monday that getting Hurts involved on designed plays is "something we'll continue to explore" each week, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports.

Analysis: Pederson also suggested that Hurts could handle packages out of the backfield if Miles Sanders (knee) is forced to miss any time. Analysis: Just one game removed from opening his pro career as a healthy scratch, Hurts will serve as the No. 2 quarterback to Carson Wentz, Chris McPherson of the Eagles' official site reports. Analysis: It isn't the first time Pederson has hinted at Hurts beginning his career as the No. 3 quarterback in Philadelphia. That said, the rookie took 16 snaps in a sharp performance at Monday's practice, while Sudfeld got 17 snaps and didn't play nearly as well, according to Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94 WIP. Even if Sudfeld enters Week 1 in the backup job, Hurts could oust him before the end of the season.
